A court visitor positioning project in Shanghai
Project requirement decomposition
The main building of a people's court in Shanghai consists of 9 floors above ground and 1 floor underground. The indoor positioning system needs to locate the parties moving in the public area in real time. The system coverage includes the security check building, outdoor area, 1-4 floors of the court building and other areas.
The target of positioning is visitors (parties and attorneys) and the number of people is about 200.
Requirement.:
- Real-time positioning/tracking records for personnel, with real-time location inquiries available.
- Positioning history records can be played back and data stored for 1 year
- The system is capable of conducting statistics on the number of people in the area.
- Electronic fence can be set in the area.
Program Description
The system architecture consists of three parts: positioning anchor, tag, and positioning engine server, as shown in the figure below.

Workflow: tag emits UWB signal → anchor receives UWB signal → master station gathers UWB data and forwards it → computing server performs data decoding.
Anchor deployment.
- 1、In the open area, the anchor is deployed in a grid shape with a radius of 30m, such as a larger conference room or office, etc., as long as it is installed around near the wall to form a rectangle to cover the whole office area.
- 2、In the corridor area, anchors are deployed along the corridor with a radius of 15~30m.
- 3、In the stairwell and small room area, one anchor can be installed in the center.
- 4、The anchor should be far away from air conditioning vents, fluorescent lights and other obvious obscurants, so that people can see the anchor from any angle in the coverage area.
