ASMPT Supply Chain Factories With UWB Positioning


In the global electronics manufacturing industry, the ASMPT Group plays a critical role across the semiconductor and electronics value chain. Known for its highly automated, high-throughput, and precision-driven manufacturing systems, further efficiency improvements increasingly depend on on-site logistics visibility and process coordination.

At an ASMPT supply-chain electronics manufacturing facility in South China, frequent trolly movements across mutiple production stages created challenges in real-time visibility and flow control. To adress this, the factory deployed Woxu's UWB high-precision positioning solution to digitally track and manage material trolleys, enabling a shift toward data-driven on-site operations.

Project Challenges

Solution: UWB-Based Trolley Flow Visualisation

Woxu deployed a UWB high-precision positioning system covering an approximately 57m × 60m production area. The solution includes 30 UWB anchors and 400+ positioning tags attached to material trolleys, delivering 30 cm-level 2D positioning accuracy based on TDOA technology.

By combining real-time positioning with geofencing, the system automatically identifies trolley entry and exit events across key process areas, providing objective data support for production rhythm analysis and dispatch optimisation.

On-site management has shifted from manual searching and coordination to screen-based scheduling and collaboration, establishing a solid data foundation for continuous improvement in production efficiency and digital operations.
