On 12th November, ‘Fusion Positioning Technology and Application Trend’ Eco-Salon, hosted by XiaoZhi, co-organised by Nanjing Woxu Wireless and Jiangnan University, was successfully held in the multi-function hall of Wuxi (National) Information Sensing Centre. With the goal of ‘cooperation, openness and win-win’, the salon gathered experts, scholars and enterprise representatives in the industry to discuss the latest positioning technology, innovative fusion applications and future development trends.

Firstly, Mr Qiu Qinghua, Executive Vice President of Xiaoxin, shared his views on the topic of ‘Location Service Technology and Application Trends’. He introduced in detail the current mainstream indoor and outdoor single positioning technologies (such as UWB, Bluetooth, GPS, etc.) in recent years, the industry market, technology comparison and the main application scenarios. Mr Qiu Qinghua stressed that the future positioning technology will pay more attention to the fusion and synergy of multiple technologies to achieve a wider range of application scenarios and higher accuracy.

Next, Mr Gu Quan, Deputy General Manager of Nanjing Woxu Wireless, shared the ‘Exploration and practice of fusion positioning based on multiple sensing technologies of UWB+’. Mr Gu Quan introduced the application of multiple sensing technologies with practical project cases, firstly, he introduced multiple location sensing technologies, including wide-area positioning technology based on satellite network, local positioning technology based on wireless signals, and inertial navigation and positioning technology, which enabled the participants to have a more comprehensive understanding of the fusion application of location sensing technologies.

Next, Mr Gu Quan listed many successful cases of UWB+ based multiple sensing technology fusion in Woxu Wireless over the years, which brought the participants into the actual application scenarios of different industries, and showed the indoor/outdoor fusion positioning, the fusion of different wireless positioning, the fusion of sensors and other positioning sensing technology applications, and actively exchanged views with the participants during the interactive session.
Mr Gu Quan finally stressed that the positioning technology of Woxu Wireless always focuses on ‘efficiency’ and ‘safety’. With UWB as the core technology foundation, Woxu has achieved the fusion of multiple sensing technologies for positioning, which has been favoured by customers for many years. UWB + based on a variety of sensing technologies have been successfully applied to industrial manufacturing, mining, warehousing and logistics, energy and chemical industry, intelligent water and other fields, and will explore more application scenarios in the future.

Finally, Mr Liu Yang, a PhD professor from IOT School of Jiangnan University, shared his views on the topic of ‘Indoor Positioning Industry Future Outlook’. From the academic point of view, he introduced several indoor positioning algorithms based on multi-feature fusion with fewer samples, such as indoor positioning algorithms based on BEiT network, positioning algorithms based on attention feature fusion, etc., and put forward his own unique insights on the innovative direction of future positioning technology.

After the topic sharing, all the participants took a group photo, and then went to visit the exhibition hall to learn more about the latest research results and technical applications of positioning technology, and further exchanged opinions and ideas in the exhibition hall. The latest products of Woxu in the exhibition hall aroused great interest from the participants, many of whom stopped to consult and have in-depth exchanges.

The success of this eco-salon not only provides a platform for industry professionals to communicate and learn, but also injects new momentum to promote the development and application of convergent positioning technology. In the future, Woxu will continue to uphold the concept of ‘cooperation, openness, win-win’, and work together with colleagues from all walks of life to create a better future for positioning technology.
