Since the opening of the Deji Art Museum, the Deji Jinling Digital Exhibition has quickly become a cultural treasure in the hearts of tourists with its unique and innovative display method, and has been on the list of ‘must-visit cards in Nanjing’. The exhibition has not only triggered a frenzy of viewing in China, but also shone on the international stage of Nanjing Week in Boston and the Salle de la Musique in Paris, winning global attention and praise.

Inspired by the collection of ‘Jinling Diagrams’, the Deji Pavilion gathered Hollywood film technology, military-grade positioning system and next-generation 3D sound effects and other top technologies, and after two years of meticulous preparations, completed this 110-metre-long, 3.6-metre-high circular giant LED screen - ‘Jinling Diagrams Digital Art Exhibition’, which realises the innovative initiative of digitisation of cultural heritage. The exhibition is the first of its kind in the world.
The exhibition is the world's first interactive experience of ‘characters in paintings, real-time followers’, aiming to present the millennium history and cultural essence of Song Dynasty China and activate the vitality of cultural relics in the era through unprecedented exhibition forms and immersive, open-ended exploratory experiences. By wearing a special positioning bracelet, visitors will be able to create their own characters on the screen, instantly ‘entering the painting’ and experiencing the fun of walking alongside the ancients.
In this cultural journey, every visitor who steps into the exhibition hall seems to become a time traveler, having a dialogue across time and space with the 533 ancient people in the screen.
So, how did the mind-blowing ‘characters in paintings, real-time follow’ experience transform from a creative spark into a miracle in front of us?
The underlying sensing technology for all this magic comes from the UWB (Ultra-Wideband) high-precision positioning system independently developed by Woxu Wireless.
Visitors log in the APP through mobile phone and get the positioning bracelet at the smart card issuer and wear it, at this time the bracelet can link the real tourists with the characters in the picture of Jinling. With the pace of tourists' sightseeing, the positioning system will capture the movement status of tourists in real time and synchronously control the movement of the virtual characters, realising the immersive feeling of “characters into the painting, real-time following”.

Woxu's UWB positioning system is not limited to real-time tracking of visitors. The location data collected in real time will be used in Unity3D engine, video playback system, audio control unit and interactive game platform. This allows visitors to automatically trigger preset sound effects and messages when they arrive at specific hotspot areas, further enhancing the visitor experience. This real-time location-based interaction makes every exploration a unique experience. Visitors are no longer just watching history, but participating in it, deeply experiencing every nuance of the Song Dynasty Jinling.
Through the innovative application of UWB positioning technology, ‘Jinling Diagram Digital Art Exhibition’ not only makes the historical scrolls ‘alive’, but also builds a bridge connecting the ancient and modern China and the world, and the precision and efficiency of UWB technology makes this exhibition not only a reproduction of history, but also a celebration of the power of science and technology. UWB technology is precise and efficient, making this exhibition not only a reenactment of history, but also a celebration of the power of science and technology. UWB technology is not only a positioning tool, but also a medium of dialogue between history and modern technology, showing the infinite possibilities of human civilization.
